ATB Innovation is currently growing its data management practice and is looking for a Data Engineer to join the team. In this role, you’ll be the architect in how we collect, organize and consume large amounts of data for our product teams to leverage in their research and products. You will continuously develop our expertise as a team in data management.
Build and organize massive reservoirs for big data.
Develop, construct, test and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale data processing systems.
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining and production.
Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.
Create custom software components (e.g. specialized UDFs) and analytics applications.
Employ a variety of languages and tools (e.g. scripting languages) to marry systems together.
Collaborate with data architects, data scientists and product team members on project goals.
Research and implement new tools and techniques for team use.
Improve the process for team members to access and understand customer data.
Specific Skills and Requirements:
Degree in Engineering, computer science, or related fields.
Experience architecting and organizing large datasets
Experience defining data requirements/test data needs for product/delivery teams
Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling
Broad experience working with various database architectures and/or: Hadoop-based technologies (e.g. MapReduce, Hive and Pig)
SQL-based technologies (e.g PostgreSQL and MySQL)
NoSQL technologies (e.g. Cassandra and MongoDB)
Data modeling tools (e.g. ERWin, Enterprise Architect and Visio)
Experience with GitHub or GitLab to store test data creation artifacts
Bonus points if you’ve worked in a startup or can demonstrate your unique contributions to open source projects.
